Has anyone tried Alessio's Italian Restaurant at Bryan and Fitzhugh in Dallas?

It's good. They seem to have a loyal following. When we went a few months ago, all the tables there seemed to know the owner. They offer some unusual items like rabbit which was very tasty.

They have a lunch buffet which is a good way to try and see if you like it.

Efrain Pacheco, one of the great unsung chefs of Dallas has been cooking Allesio's recipes in this kitchen for as long as I can remember. The restaurant closed shortly after Efrain retired. But as I hear it, he has been back in the kitchen since they reopened, however not as head chef. There is something so rich and perfect about his sauces. If you are fortunate enough to dine there make sure you order anything from the Carni section as each are mouth-watering rich and delicious. My fave - rigatoni and vodka sauce... YUM!

I agree Alessio's is a comfortable restaurant, with good food. Lunch is especially good, and a real bargain. The fact that it is 1/2 block from Jimmie's Italian Market, and Jim Spicer's vegatable market is a real plus.
