I am looking to take my boyfriend out to dinner for his birthday in the Laguna Beach/CDM?Newport/Dana Point area. I want to take him somewhere with for a great three course meal. I don't eat fish, so I need somewhere that isn't primarily seafood. I know that Sapphire, Port and Landmark are already booked for Monday night. Any suggestions?

Does he like steak? When my wife asked me I said take me to Mastros Ocean Club.

First course- Grey Goose Martini w/ three blue cheese stuffed olives.
Second Course- Caviar w/ blenis, capers & creme fraiche
    Third Course- Bottle of Dominus
Fourth Course- Seafood Tower w/ crab claws, oysters & shrimp.
Fifth Course- Wedge Salad w/ blue cheese dressing and vinaigrette one the side.
Sixth Course- Bone-in Rib Eye -medium rare/room temp plate.

And of course Gorganzola Mac & Cheese, Sugar Snap Peas & Sauteed Mushrooms.
And to finish off...Butter Cake w/ a side of fresh berries and a glass of 18 year old Macallan.

If you don't mind heading north to Costa Mesa, Turner New Zealand is terrific. They are a all-organic fine dining establishment. The meat is fantastic. Location: 650 Anton Blvd
      Costa Mesa, CA 92626; Phone: (714) 668-0880.

If you must stay along PCH, may I also suggest Salt Creek Grille in Dana Point, where the Pork Chops are absolutely divine. So, is the Mac N Cheese side dish.

      Hope that helps, Nancy

Sadly, we tried to make a reservation at Turner New Zealand a month or so ago, and discovered that they are now closed. Such a shame! What a wonderful restaurant it was! It will be much missed by us...

You’re truly in luck that those places are unavailable….

Try Zoolu Café (mostly seafood, but AWESOME veal chop and excellent filet)
        or
        Tabu Grill- everything is good

Both in Laguna, and two of my favorites right now.

Bungalow in Corona del Mar. Ask for a booth.

Splahes in the Surf and Sand Hotel, Laguna Beach. Un-matched view, (besides Las Brisas).
