Does anyone know of a local source for good Singaporean bak kwa (bbq pork jerky)? Preferably downtown, as my carless self doesn't get out to the 'burbs much :-)
Tried this bak kwa at the Night It Up event last week - pretty good!
thanks for the tip, but $50 per kilo? really? too rich for my blood, hahaha!
You're not going to find it at any cheaper than that. The dried snack shops in Chinese malls selling this type of jerky charge similar prices.
You can buy the pre-packaged stuff under the Soo brand at most Asian supermarkets.
yeah, that's what I'm finding. ah well. I'll have to rely on my friends bringing it back for me, lah!
I had a friend bring some back earlier this month, I ate it all in 2 days. :(
Do know that it's illegal to bring this stuff in, customs will confiscate if found.
aiyah. didn't think about that, but makes sense. will have to snarf discreetly :-)
