Poggio- Anyone been recently?

We are spending an early Valentine's Day in Sausalito on Saturday and I was looking for nice, but not too expensive restaurant in the area. Poggio got mixed reviews when it opened, and I thought it was decent the one time I went there a couple of years ago. Any recent experiences? Any other recommendations in the area(other than Sushi Ran)?

  1. We've been to Poggio a few times in the past several months and the food has been pretty good. It's not a destination for us, but the roasted white shrimp appetizer with their homemade rolls make a yummy starter. Several of the salads are reliably good. I think we had the roasted beet salad last time and we enjoyed it. The spinach gnocchi with beef ragu and the polpettone (braised "meatloaf") are tasty mains. We haven't had much luck with the pizzas when we've tried them. But other than that, you can have a nice meal there.

    1. Took my wife and mother-in-law there this past summer. The location is great for people watching and enjoying a nice day at Sausalito. I can't remember anything specific about the food, but I do remember that everyone enjoyed it. So nothing special, but hearty and good.
