wholesale-ish ice cream downtown?

looking to host an ice cream social and wondering if there's any well-priced ice creams available; don't want to spend a ton of money, but also don't want to serve bad stuff. il laboratorio is about $20 for 85 ounces, which is kinda steep.

any recs?

Not sure about pricing, but I was helping out a friend cook a dinner for 30, and he bought from East Village Ice Cream, and I know he was cost-conscious.

Hi bigjeff,

Since you have plenty of experience with Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, why don't you try giving them a call? Since they are self-owned and are Chinese (who always welcome the idea of bulk with discount IMO :D), you may be able to a good deal.
