So far the best thing I’ve had family-owned Filipino bakery is the cream puff for $1.

They have a brown thin crackly glaze with a crunch that is like biting into a candy apple. No soggy cream puff here. The custard filling is pretty good.

They are known for their caramel cake. Another poster wrote …

“It's very light, airy and not too sweet. Every time I have this cake at a party, everyone asks about it and takes some home with them. I even have a friend who lives in Hillsborough who will drive all the way to Hercules for this cake.”

A few other items I’ve tried recently:

Chocolate Revel – like a blond brownie with a little coconut and a layer of chocolate in the middle.

Cupcake – For 65 cents, it was ok. No frosting with the taste and texture of chocolate cake mix cake.

They also have halo halo with or without ice cream, banana with yelo (sweet banana with shave ice, mango cake, mango cheesecake, mocha cake, strawberry cake, crème de fruit, brazo de mercedes, sans rival cake, cathedral window gelatin, egg pie and … well, lots of baked goods

On top of the counter is palabo, a savory noodle dish.

Previous report about the turon (banana lumpia), cookies wrapped in paper like Italian amoretti (polvoran, empanaitas, food of the gods) ensaymada, macapone tart, mamon, pan de siosa and leguna de gato (cat’s tongue)
