I imagine Hue is talking about a Baltimore location or elsewhere in the area. Because the Fogo De Chao in DC has been around for at least 2 years now.

I think Hue meant the one in Baltimore. Though the 'locations page on their site says "October 2007" when you click on "Baltimore" it says it opened August 2007 and there are comments posted for Baltimore.

I'm waiting till I'm sufficiently starving.

In the meantime, I watch the nice little slideshow of their FIFTEEN meats on their website: http://www.fogodechao.com/dining.htm

it's good but salad bar skimpy, meats fab, $22 lunch, 44 dinner

I disagree about the salad bar being skimpy. I'm not normally a big fan of salad bars, and I had pretty much decided I wasn't going to "waste" stomach space on salad while having dinner at Fogo de Chao. But once I saw the salad bar, I changed my mind--it's got plenty of choices, including some interesting, slightly different items on it--smoked salmon is one thing I remember clearly. In the end, our meal (both salad and meet) surpassed our expectations.

Sorry, to clarify, I meant compared to the salad bars at other churrascaria competitors around the country. By itself, it was pretty good, but only the chicken salad seemed worth the stomach space in light of the meat avalanche.

I went this week for lunch with 8 co-workers. Everyone loved it. Great seasoned grilled meats (stand-outs were lamb chops, leg of lamb, and rib-eye), great sides and salad bar and the service was impeccable. It was a fun way to eat and very enjoyable for a chain.

It is what it is, and it does a fairly good job at what it is (based on my experience in another location, not Baltimore). Given that, if you know what to expect, and it meets what you need, then by all means
