Main Line or Center City spot for private party for 40?

Helping a friend wo eloped pick a venue for her wedding reception. We are going to look at Rae and Water Works.

Al-Dar Bistro and Eviva in Bala Cynwyd and Narberth have good food and nice ambience. I think they are owned by the same family. I've done parties at both and the food and service have always been excellent.

I would also strongly recommend Pond in Radnor.
There isn't a more exquisite landscape in the area. And the food is fine.

The food at Pond is excellent and the private rooms are nice too. However, I had an event there earlier this year and the service was really poor. The bartender wasn't prepared for guests arrival, the bar was not kept neat, it was left unmanned, etc. I would not let this steer me away, but would really discuss it with them before booking. They were very nice and eager to be helpful, so maybe it was just an off night.
