Does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants in the Portland area that offer gluten-free menu items or are willing to accomodate people who can't eat gluten?

This isn't something I know a lot about, but I'd guess it would be relatively easy to avoid gluten at a sushi place, right? (I like Yosaku). My other guess would be Pepperclub, but you might want to call first.

As long as you avoid the soy sauce as almost all soys have wheat flour in them.

My guess is that any top restaurant worth the salt (and pepper) not on their table, with advance notice, would be very accomodating and create a menu special for you. If you are looking to walk in then, Pepperclub immediately comes to mind as well.

Stephen Lanzalotta, who moved his Sophia's bakery inside Miccuci's Market, India Street, has offered gluten-free breads and other baked goods.

Thanks so much for the advice. I'll look into it!
