The announcement can be as detailed as you like, or save some of the info -especially if you haven't decided crucial details yet - for when folks respond via e-mail. Does that answer your question? You can post two, if necessary, one to gauge interest in a general idea, and one to announce final plans. If you've already got a place and time in mind, you can skip to the second one. Include a way for people to contact you off the boards in your request, as we don't allow RSVP and planning discussions on the boards for a variety of reasons. An email address is usually your best bet, but it will get spam, so you might want to use Gmail or Yahoo rather than your main address. Flag the post when you make it, and ask the moderators to sticky it to the top of your local board.
