  1. I've never seen it here (or anywhere far from the Caribbean).

    1. Here was a few ideas from a similar question last year.

      1. Sichuan restaurants serve conch as a cold appetizer with a fiery hot chili oil.

Great Eastern in SF Chinatown has sauteed conch with scallops and yellow chives. I've had this five times or so and is one of my favorite dishes here.

I'll second the Great Eastern recommendation. It's one of the items in their "Chinatown Collection" set menu, popular with seafood lovers.

Do you recommend Great Eastern in general?

Yes. One caveat, don't try to order anything but dim sum or noodley-dishes at lunch time at Great Eastern. The kitchen can't handle it and you're better off waiting until dinner hour for more involved preps.

Here's a very recent but brief positive mention of the conch at China Village..(in a longer post)

I can elaborate on that -- the conch is cut into strips and dressed with chili oil and Sichuan pepper. Like other Sichuan-style cold appetizers, it is addictive. --PR

            3. I believe there are conch fritters at The Front Porch.

              1. This stuck in my head so I noticed the conch at New May Wah on Clement between 8th and 9th this morning. I want to say they were $4.99 a pound, but the certainty seems to have slipped out of my head.
