Dinner in New Haven on Labor Day

My parents are meeting up with some family members (5 people total) on Labor Day in New Haven for dinner. They are looking for a moderately priced restaurant (i.e. no entrees over $20) with good food in a relaxed atmosphere where they can talk and eat and not feel rushed. They would like a place with a varied menu and are leaning away from spicy, ethnic restaurants. They were originally thinking of Ristorante Fasutini but it is closed on Mondays. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

  1. Restaurant Faustini is not only closed on Monday...it's closed permanently..
Restaurant Bocca has replaced it (and I have no idea as to how good it is!)

      Thanks for the info.

    2. Tre Scalini
      Scoozi
      Sage

I think that you would find it difficult to find many entrees under $20 at Scoozi and Sage. You might try Abate on Wooster St, Istanbul Cafe on Crown St, Restaurant Bocca, that took the place of Faustini, seems to fit your price range as well.
