Outdoor UWS w/Dog

  • 3

It's so beautiful out today! I really want to take my dog (golden retriever) with me tonight when I go out to dinner tonight on the UWS with a friend. Preferably somewhere in the 80's or 90's. I know this topic has been discussed before, so I was hoping someone out there who's asked the question previously could let me know where they ended up and how their experience was. What do people think of French Roast, Acqua, Aix, Freds, Gabriella's, Talia's, Lisca, Nonna, etc.?

Thanks!

  1. Try calling La Fenice at 68th & Broadway.
If they comply with the pet issue, that might be a fine spot for people-watching and Italian dining.

    1. Outside at Fred's and HiLife, we always see dogs. Fred's food is pretty good - excellent salads, really good mac & cheese. We love the outside at Gabriella's (and their margaritas!) but we've never seen any dogs there -- so I don't know if they allow them or if people just don't bring them. Talia's is kosher, I think; so check before going there -- they probably aren't open on Saturday. One of the best dog-friendly spots is the 79th Street Boat Basin.

Thanks, so much, LNG212. Great tips! I haven't tried Gabriella's in their new location yet, so I'll have to give it a try one night (without the dog). From your recs, Fred's might be the best bet - If that doesn't work we can always head across the street to Hi Life. I'll be at the 79th St. Boat Basin next week. There's also a similar cafe across from the dog run at 105th in Riverside Park.
