You've GOT TO check out: Juanita's Taco Shop, St.Germain's for a great brunch, and there's a fantastic market across from Batiquito's estuary on La Costa Avenue that makes THE BEST tortilla chips and salsa!

Here is a big long thread on Encinitas and the surrounding North Coastal County Area. Have fun!

re: Enorah
Thanks. That's a very good thread.
I have never been there, don't know the area at all.
Can I get recommendations for just the La Costa area?Don't wanna travel too far. And might get lost :-)
I know its not a very big area, so looking to not leave the vicinity. Anywhere good?
Thanks!!-
re: doona
La costa is basically carlsbad/encinitas, along El Camino Real. I'm pretty sure it's not even technically a city as much as the name for the expensive residential area that surrounds La Costa spa. So that thread Enorah posted is going to have pretty much everything in the area you will be in..

re: doona
I don't think you'll get lost out here. :)
We are pretty new here and have not gotten lost once. I imagine you will want to spend time along the Pacific Coast Hwy 101 corridor in Leucadia/Encinitas/Cardiff. Many of the restaurants that were discussed in that thread are on 101.
Here are a few off of the top of my head:
Swami's
Honey's
Siamese Basil
La Especial Norte
Juanita's
Yu Me YaAlong El Camino Real you will find:
Bety's Tacos
Kaito
Pizzicato
Russo'sI hope that you will explore as La Costa is a bit inland, and the coast/beach is just beautiful.
Check out Moonlight beach in Encinitas
Relax and have a great time!
