Tenth Avenue, Hell's Kitchen

Hi!

I just discovered Bis Co Latte today on Tenth Avenue. The biscotti was delicious and I've never so many flavours before. The iced coffee was also very nice.

Now I'm wondering what other good places there are on Tenth Avenue Hell's Kitchen area (30's to 50's). Any suggestions? I rarely go beyond Ninth Ave.

Cheers,

Bar X Ave (formerly Clinton Grille) on 45th recently re-did their menu and now have a bunch of good comfort foods including mac & cheese, sliders, and a huge hot dog. Also new hdtv's and jukebox.

Fusion for drinks, they have a great back patio. (56th Street)
Bagel place between 56th and 57th is fantastic as well.

I've also heard great things about the Greek Kitchen on 58th and 10th.

Greek Kitchen is awesome, at least for gyros and souvlaki. Their garlicky Greek fries are also delish...

yeah, bis co is a great recent addition to the hood - right across the street is an awesome ethiopian joint called meskerem - you can get their vegetarian platter which feeds two for $13 - and right next door to bis co is tulcingo del valle, which has great and really cheap mexican worshipped elsewhere on this board.

Second all of these suggestions (and Leah's, too) but one quick correction -- Azuri is on 51st. Also, the small falafel plate is the best deal, imo, and make sure to try the hummus.

Thanks for the recommendations. I've tried Azuri and love the schwarma and the falafels.

Anybody tried Desi Deli? I saw that on my way and was wondering how it is. Any other good Indian/Pak places in that area?

How about the Red Sea Yemeni Restaurant? I passed it in the afternoon but it looked shut.

Desi Deli is a cab-drivers hangout. The indian food is mediocre at best. It however has indian desserts that addresses the needs of folks who have a nostalgic craving from time to time :)

Good to know about the desserts. I often have a craving for sweet dishes from home. :)

Anybody know much about the Yemeni place?

Red Sea closed for good this past spring. If you're still in pursuit of Yemeni food, you can still find several options near Atlantic Ave. and Court St.

Thanks, I tried Yemen Cafe on Atlantic Ave and loved it. I was excited when I saw Red Sea near where I live. Ashame I didn't know of it earlier.

Missed it myself. It would be a shame, though, not to venture over at least to Eighth Ave. hop the subway once in a while, and see what you can find. Love my unlimited MetroCard!
