Ceals Clam Stand, Seabrook, NH?

I'm going on a road trip from NYC to Rockland ME and am looking to do a tour de clam shack...

does anyone know is Ceal's is still open? if so, is it worth the stop?

Stopped by Ceal's for a box of clams last night. Ceal's is celebration their 60th year in business this year. For clams they only serve small bellied clams but their so sweet and good. Fresh hand cut fries and rings and house made tatar and slaw. I keep wanting to try the fried shimp on RandyL's suggestion, but I haven't made it yet. Ceal's is worth the stop for a clam shack.

Sorry, but I forgot to mention Bob's Clam Shack in Kittery. Absolutely the best. The owner is a great guy, buys health insurance for all his employees on day 1, donates to every charity in sight. Not to miss.

Many better places:

1) Al's Seafood- about 6 miles up the road on rt 1. Simply superb frying and great, great clams. Nice people as well.

2) Lena's subs- Doesn't look like much, but great seafood subs. Fried haddock is realy awesome.

3) Brown's- I have always found this to be better, and the atmosphere nicer.

It has been about a year since I went to Ceals. It was just terrible. Packaged turkey, the clams were TERRIBLE (I like Cooke's and The Clam Box if that helps). My klds wouldn't even eat the food, I could barely eat it. I hated the place and was really pissed I had spent money on the gruel they shoved out the window. My daughter had a burger to replace the turkey and that was terrible too. Just a total disaster. I'm sick thinking about it a year later...

I can't wait for Ceal's to open for the season. Out of over 100 visits over the past 40 years, I've never had a bad fried clam come out of the window, and thats all I've ever ordered from Ceal's. Can't wait to try their fried shrimp this year. Find a new agenda man.

Ceal's is still open, and it's worth a stop. They do a good job frying clams.

I love Ceal's. Their french fries are great and I always get the lobster roll. My grandmother loves their clams. Yummy!
