if I don't get a decent cheesesteak soon....

Having just moved to MPLS from the east coast 2 years ago....If I don't get a decent cheesesteak soon , I'm gonna have to open up my own cheesesteak stand!! not to mention pork roll sandwiches....as my grandma always said "where's the grease?!"

If you open your own stand, will you fly in the bread from Amoroso's?

Seriously, grease we have. Just check out the State Fair next week.

Try a Hot Dago from Dairy-ette or a Porketta sandwich from Buon Giorno (which is something like a roast pork sandwich and truly delicious.) Grab some cheese curds (which are better than the fried cheese I've tried in the rest of the country - don't know why). If you like burgers, look for one of the discussions of the jucy lucy.

As a former Philadelphian, I get my wiz without/roast pork w/rabe fix when I go back to visit Philly. It just doesn't taste the same anywhere else. But there's lots of local specialties to satisfy your grease tooth.

Open the stand. They don't exist here. Go to Uncle Franky's to tide you over. www.unclefrankys.com

There's a place in south Milwaukee that I mistakenly thought had closed but is open called The Philly Way. I haven't been there in a couple of years but the owner there used to work at Pat's in Philadelphia.

      PLEASE open a stand.

I am leaving for the Jersey shore in 4 hours...when I come back here in 10 days I hope to have a belly full of various cheesesteaks, tomato pies and a couple of pork rolls to tide me over!

Only in your belly, none in your carry-on luggage for the rest of us bereft souls?

How cruel of you to taunt us like that!!!
