Having just moved to MPLS from the east coast 2 years ago....If I don't get a decent cheesesteak soon , I'm gonna have to open up my own cheesesteak stand!! not to mention pork roll sandwiches....as my grandma always said "where's the grease?!"

I am leaving for the Jersey shore in 4 hours...when I come back here in 10 days I hope to have a belly full of various cheesesteaks, tomato pies and a couple of pork rolls to tide me over!

There's a place in south Milwaukee that I mistakenly thought had closed but is open called The Philly Way. I haven't been there in a couple of years but the owner there used to work at Pat's in Philadelphia.

Try a Hot Dago from Dairy-ette or a Porketta sandwich from Buon Giorno (which is something like a roast pork sandwich and truly delicious.) Grab some cheese curds (which are better than the fried cheese I've tried in the rest of the country - don't know why). If you like burgers, look for one of the discussions of the jucy lucy.

As a former Philadelphian, I get my wiz without/roast pork w/rabe fix when I go back to visit Philly. It just doesn't taste the same anywhere else. But there's lots of local specialties to satisfy your grease tooth.
