Lunch Meeting Saturday nr Wilshire and Sepulveda

Densible Aug 16, 2007 07:44 PM

Need a seriously quiet and private restaurant for a serious lunch meeting this Saturday near Wilshire and Sepulveda or near Brentwood Glen area (wherever that is...) Not from the area and appreciate any recommendations.

You recently recommended La Cachette to someone else requesting a business lunch venue. Why not follow your own advice and give it a try, (you also had LA Farm on your list - another good choice).

-both are too far away from the area I am seeking and not quiet enough.

La Cachette is 1.9 miles from Wilshire and Sepulveda and LA Farm is less than 5 miles, (maybe 7 minutes to La Cachette and 12 minutes to LA Farm if you take Montana to 26th and cut down to Olympic then turn L on Olympic and you're there). I have found both places to be pretty sedate at lunch, (as compared to dinner).

Maybe one of the Italian places in Brentwood? Although I don't know if any of them will be any quieter than La Cachette for LA Farm. It's too bad Peppone on Barrington Ct. isn't open for lunch - it would probably be perfect.

Two other thoughts. Gardens on Glendon or Napa Grill. Both in Westwood Village.

            Thank you-will check them out.
BTW-I do not think Cacheele or Farm do lunch on Saturdays.

if expensive steakhouse food is ok, i'd consider pacific dining car in santa monica.

Tanino is pretty quiet, and you can request their "quietest" table. Westwood and not far from Wilsh/Sepul

Another option would be West at 405 and Sunset at Hotel Angeleno.

I think you might mean Beverly Glen? Anyway, I'm not positive if they're open for lunch on Saturdays, but I've had some excellent business lunches at Il Grano on Santa Monica just west of the 405. It's very quiet and the food is excellent.

..."Seriosly Quiet.." . . . sounds like only a private dining room will do.

Napa Valley Grill is open for Lunch on Saturday, is 5 1/4 blocks from Sepulveda and Wilshire, has Valet parking during Lunch on the weekdays - probably Saturdays too, and has 2 private rooms that would fit your group size. Hit on the Rutherford Room or the Tasting Room (which has a long window next to the sidewalk but with closable curtains I think):

The Luxe Hotel at Sunset and the 405 might be just right.

http://www.rusticcanyonrestaurant.com/ Try Rustic Canyon if Santa Monica is ok. I went recently and it was great. Good basic food done right. Not cheap though.

That has been mentioned on the board a few times.
