ISO Caramel treat that can travel
I have an aunt who planned a family vacation this summer and did a wonderful job of organizing and making sure we all had a good time. I know she loves caramels, so I wanted to make a batch of caramel treats to give to her as thanks. She does live out of state, so I'd be sending it by mail, which means that what I make will need to be able to withstand rough treatment en route and be able to hang out at warm temperatures for a couple days.
I was thinking caramel truffles or a caramel tart, but both are too delicate and probably require refrigeration (!) OK, so I'm a novice cook, and I'm even more green in the confection/baking department.
So with all of that in mind, does anyone have any ideas that would fit my experience level and my travel stipulation? Big thanks in advance.
