Frozen Custard in New England

Does anyone have any tips for places to get good frozen custard in the Boston area? I've seen recommendations on this board for the Chilly Cow...any feedback on this or additional recommendations? Thanks!

  1. Chilly Cow is good as long as you stick to the VANILLA CUSTARD -- don't deviate or you may be disappointed with other flavors, the ice cream, or the frozen yogurt there.

I'd also love to know of other frozen custards spots in the Boston area -- it's really great stuff that I discovered the Adirondacks (Lake Placid) a few years ago.

There's a Kohr Bros. Frozen Custard (a chain) at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree. They usually have 6-8 flavors.

      Kohr Brothers Frozen Custard
250 Granite St, Braintree, MA 02184

      Chilly Cow
451 Massachusetts Ave, Arlington, MA 02474

rlh: Agreed. The Chilly Cow vanilla custard is good (but god, this St. Louisan craves a Ted Drewes now and again).

      2. Louie's in Somerville, on Broadway near the McGrath highway, has very good frozen custard and hard ice cream as well. The grape nut custard is deservedly famous.
