Bristol Cheap Eats

Hi folks.

Coming from the States to Bristol for a conference and am looking for ideas for relatively inexpensive (under 20GPB/person including tax and tip) small group (4-8 people) dinners while there. We'll all be staying in the City Centre but I can try to pull the group to other areas of town if the food and price are worth the trip.

Many thanks for your help.

  1. I'm afraid I don't have any specific recommendations for you, but note that in the UK, tax is always included in a menu price. Tip is usually 10% - and make sure that it isnt already added as a "service charge". If it is, no further tip is needed.

As anywhere else, city centre prices are always higher than in the suburbs so you will be limiting yourself at a food price of £18 a head. More so, if drinks are to come from this as well. Pubs and "Indian" restaurants will be a good bet - as will lower end Italian.

"Ask" is a good national chain serving pizza & pasta. "Pizza Express" is also a national which has pretty good value.

Hopefully, someone with local knowledge will be along in due course but, in the meantime, these websites may be of interest

Enjoy your trip to the south west.
