  1. Was there a little over a month ago (on a Saturday afternoon - yuck, too crowded). We had oysters, many different types and all reasonably priced - fantastic! Still thinking about them. peel-and-eat shrimp good but not worth ordering again unless you are a huge fan of this kind of preparation, fish tacos that were quite good, traditional preparation, lightly fried, great seasoning and sauce, very satisfying. The one thing we didn't order but wish we did was a steamed lobster, many people were eating them around us and they looked great and were reasonably priced at the time. Cold beer a must with the fish tacos. I would definitely go back but would try a different day/time.

    1. big mistake I made - fried shrimp, don't do it! They make a big fuss about how the display case items are 'for display only'. I did not really want fried shrimp but my companion (1st or 2nd date) did so I went along. The counter help took our order straight from the display case - Bleech! - would have been bad fried shrimp even if made fresh but this was plain gross. The steamed stuff looked great. Boy was I mad at myself for being so accomodating on a first date! They had fresh sardines that I really wanted to take home but what to do when your date is into fried shrimp, sigh.

So true...never get suckered in by the fried items...

You should try the fried Silver Smelt. Delicious, not greasy, and dirt cheap. Like popcorn.

      2. Steamed crabs/lobster is what they do best!

        1. D'ya think I could get away with getting a lobbie at Quality and taking it to Naja's for beer and hummus?

Why dont you call Naja's and ask. Yesterday day it was another type of food that you had wanted to take there!! Personally I find the place rather worn, dingy, and not what I am looking for a beer place..

I know, I am so fickle and want to have all I crave at once, sometimes. I can drive people nuts trying to figure out where to go to eat out, cause I can't make up my mind what I want the most, and tey refuse to choose themselves (my husband NEVER wants to choose)

sorry you don't like it. The homebrew beer geek communities really dig it and the fabulous beer selection.. The licve music is fun!

well Diana thanks for being so forthright.. ever been to the Richmond Bar and Grill in El Segundo.. Many small crafted micro brews and others on tap and great burgers.. a nostalgic kind of place. Hey we may disaree, but as I said before we both have the love of food. and yes you do annoy me sometime, but there is freedom of speech..

Sshh... don't spread the word of Richmond Street. Jeff is recovering nicely and I don't want cigar night to get too crowded...

                  1. re: Foodandwine

Yep. I always say that pthe people who annoy me are probably people I would like the most, really. I mean, if I get all the way to annoyed, it means someone hit the right note and was able to make a darn good argument.

We both love food and good wine and beer, that's what counts! And we are both passionate about it.

                    I'll have to try Richmond!

            2. I used to get the Clam chowder, but last 2 times it was salty and worse yet SANDY!
My Mom got some filets of rock cod and had it charbroiled she liked it.
