Dim Sum in PHX (with vegetarian options)

My boyfriend and I are visiting the Chandler area this weekend, and we wanted to find a good dim sum place in the Chandler area. My boyfriend is Vegetarian, so I want to be sure that they will have some vegetarian selections for him also. Any suggestions?

That may be tough. Dim sum, in my experience, is often very porky. There are usually a few dessert-like buns and some small dishes of gai lan, but most everything I've seen offered as part of the dim sum at Golden Buddha on the east side of Phoenix contains pork, shrimp, chicken, etc.

There are two noted dim sum places in Chandler: China King and C-Fu. You might want to give each one a call to check on vegetarian options. Another option is for you to enjoy dim sum while your boyfriend orders meatless dishes from the menu.

Here's a recent review of China King:

We've been to all three that SB mentioned. About a hour after we left C-Fu, we both got huge headaches. Not sure why, but we never went back. Our visit to China King was just sad. One cart, no new food, and dim sum still had another hour to go.
GB is our go-to, but on occasion we've had issues there, but on the whole, it's been much more reliable.

I should clarify that of the three I mentioned, I have personally visited only Golden Buddha. They do dim sum well, but their vegetarian dim sum items are minimal. In fact, GB doesn't even offer small plates of gai lan as a standard dim sum item. It has to be ordered separately from the regular menu.

I get huge headaches and I get super thirsty from Dim Sum. Alot of chinese places use MSG as a flavor enhancer. I go to GB and Great Wall, and I don't get the headaches as bad as other places.

The nice thing about Dim Sum @ Golden Buddah...they offer their entire menu...
There are many items that you can order to compliment the dim sum that are vegetarian

A large number of us were at C-Fu a few weeks back with at least one veg in tow. There were pure vegetarian options -- radish cake, sauted greens, and some tofu dishes that I remember. It was a bit limited but not impossible.

        And no headaches afterwards.

Interesting. I don't remember seeing those items on my last GB visit. Almost everything had pork in it last time I had dim sum there. I'm glad to know the other options exist.
