Gertrude Hawk Chocolate

A couple of gals at work were raving about this brand of chocolate. As a self-proclaimed chocoholic I am embarrassed to admit I've not heard of it. Is it a small regional thing? Any good?

    1. I think it's based in Pennsylvania. I had it a couple of times a few years ago and remember liking it. Not the best ever, but pretty decent. I remember liking their peanut-butter filled chocolates.

        1. i've only seen it sold in those order form brochures elementary school use as fundraisers. nothing to write home about.

they have retail outlets. I've seen them in malls in New Jersey.

              • This chocolate is not good in my opinion for it to be sold as 'gourmet'. I'd take a Snickers over this anyday.

                  1. Gertrude Hawk is DELICIOUS! I'm originally from Northeast PA and now I live in IL, I stock up whenever I'm there or I order it online when they do free shipping. A candy bar is only .99, cheap enough to order to try. My personal favorite is the Almond Chocolate Bar because, unlike most chocolate bars, it has little pieces of almond in it, giving it a wonderful texture. The dark chocolate is also very good, although their caramel isn't very good unfortunately. The poppers are also yummy! Give it a try!

                      1. It is low quality chocolate, sold in mall kiosks and children's fund raisers.

I never saw the appeal but if you are interested this is their online store.
