Wedding cake

Can anyone recommend a bakery in the Bay Area for a wedding cake that's tasty and not too sweet? My friend who's getting married is Vietnamese and she can't handle cakes that are too sweet.

Preferred flavors: tiramisu, strawberry shortcake, mocha.

Regardless of your recommendations of a bakery, any thoughts on the bakeries below?

1. Satura Cakes
2. A slice of cake
3. Bijan Bakery

Thanks so much!
Lisa

Our wedding cake was from Gerhard Michler (Creative International Pastry) in San Francisco. It was moist and rich without being overly sweet. We tasted lots of wedding cakes from lots of places and found theirs to be the best to our taste. Fair prices too.

My sister's getting married next month, and we've just gained several pounds tasting cake. We often get the Princess Cake at Bijan for parties. But for the wedding, we're having Amy Peeples (who we found through earlier posts on this board) do the wedding cake, and Satura do a dessert buffet. Satura's beautiful and very light strawberry shortcake was a contender for the wedding cake, but we were afraid the whipped cream might not hold up through a hot summer afternoon. Amy let us taste several cakes, and we all loved her raspberry-almond cake, which will work beautifully with a decorative fondant over buttercream icing. (Nobody in his right mind eats the fondant anyway.)

I would suggest La Patisserie in Cupertino. Light genoise-tyle cakes (rather than the heavier butter cakes) which aren't overly sweet, at very reasonable prices. And they make delicious mocha mousse filling :-).

I also really enjoy Satura, which has really innovative flavors, but they are quite pricey compared with La Patisserie, if cost is of concern.
