lychee liqueur

I recently saw a cool looking recipe for a lychee martini in one of the Nobu cookbooks, and I'd like to know a source for lychee liqueur in the Baltimore area. Anyone have any ideas?

The best lychee liqueur is Lichido (although it technically has guava and peach in it too). And their website says it's available in Virginia. Not sure if they have it in MD yet though.

The brand name is Soho, and I'm sure you can find it at any well-stocked liquor store.

I was just informed, any VA State store can order it for you.

Thanks. My in-laws live in VA, I'll get them to order some for me.

Is it the kind of thing you can make yourself by soaking lychee in vodka for a period of time?

I've read elsewhere and on Chowhound that that can be disastrous. The problem is that lychees are so delicate, that it's hard to do and have it come out nicely...
