Salted Caramel Cupcake at Lark Cake Shop

Stopped in for a second time at Lark Cake Shop in Silver Lake yesterday--they have a lot more flavors than when they first opened. I opted for the salted caramel cupcake--vanilla cupcake with a salty caramel icing-like frosting (hard-er, not soft and fluffy). It was delicious--the cake is small enough that you get a good icing to cake ratio with salty-sweet in every bite. They're under $2 too--about $1.50 I think.

They also had a rum cupcake which i sampled---layered with pecans on the bottom at top--very rich and caramel-y--good for fall, though I don't think I could eat a whole one. Nutmeg, lemon, carrot cake, red velvet, black and white, and something fudge-like were all on the menu as well.

It's at 3337 Sunset Blvd, north side of the street next to Stark Waxing Studio.

  1. I don't get the salt/sweet thing -- sounds kinda icky.

    1. Dang, I don't even like cupcakes that much, and now you've gotten me thinking about salted caramel. Last night we walked to Pazzo for the pistachio/espresso swirl, which was pretty darn good...might have to take another walk tonight.
