Casual business lunch around 49th and 8th

Going out to lunch with a co-worker and someone we might want to hire, going to be around 49th and 8th. We're a jeans and t-shirt kinda place, so don't want to go anywhere fancy, any nice places in that vicinity? I'd say moderately priced, and cuisine doesn't really matter that much. Plus we're planning on going tomorrow, so someplace that won't already be booked up. Thanks in advance!

We're going to try Thalia -- thanks for all of the recommendations!

Trattoria Trecolori, on 47th St., b/t B'way & 8th, is a favorite of mine and many other Hounds. Well-prepared homestyle Italian food. Friendly, efficient service. Casual place with attractive decor. Moderate prices.

Shimizu (51st and 8th) has much better than average sushi and is quiet so you'll be able to talk. Sushiden is good for Japanese food more generally. It's on 49th and 6th--but check to make sure it's not pricier than you want. Eatery (9th and 53rd) can get a bit loud, but it's a pleasant, kinda hip place serving decent renditions of hearty American diner fare (with a few twists that the more gourmand amongst you will appreciate). Don't think any of these places would be too hard to book on short notice. Utsav could fit the bill if you like north Indian. (Vegetarian dishes there are better than the meat, IMO.) Utsav can also get a bit loud during lunch.

If you wander over to 9th Ave, there are plenty of casual places, like Chelsea Grill between 46th & 47th.

Casual, there are plenty of choices in that area. Thalia on 8th & 50th, Havana Central on 46th Street between 6th & 7th and just about anything on restaurant row.
