Amanda's Chicken & Donuts

Just had to post about this one. Amanda's Chicken & Donuts on the corner of Burbank and Balboa in Encino, has got some really tasty food, all cooked to order, and totally worth the wait.

We got the 4-piece Chicken Dinner with 2 sides. The Golden Crust broasted chicken was really juicy and the fry batter crispy & not too oily or salty. Loved it. Cole slaw was slightly sweet with a hint of honey mustard. Broasted potatoes were nice, although I used some hot sauce to perk them up. Corn-on-the-cob was steamed and sweet.

We grabbed a couple of donuts to go -- a chocolate dipped buttermilk square and a maple bar. Both were heavenly. Will definitely be back.

That name alone warrants a visit if not, a t-shirt. I just hope they don't fry everything in the same oil.

Has this place been recently renamed? I thought it was called Amber's Chicken & Donuts, but it has been over a year since I've been there. Broasted chicken here is indeed fantastic.

I'm pretty sure it's still Amber's Chicken and Donut....been there for years.

Eaten there a few times, great chicken and sides. Be forewarned, there's a sign in the restaurant that says "Perfection takes time -- please be patient with your order."

I'm always skeptical of places that warn you about how slow the kitchen staff is.

While I agree the chicken was juicy I did not care for the golden crust. I felt the experience was underwhelming and thought the portions small.
