"Taste" in Plymouth, CA
We just had a GREAT dinner in the Amador Wine Country. "Taste" opened about a year ago in a refurb'ed old building in downtown Plymouth. WOW what great food and people.
My husband had the filet and I had the Kurobota Pork Chop. Both presentations were terrific. We did share one appetizer - the Beef Spring Rolls. Everything was cooked to perfection. The flavor combinations are fabulous. Along with the terrific food, the staff works together like a well oiled machine - and it is obvious that they all get along. Their knowledge of the food and wine shows that the management takes the time to make sure they understand what the chef(s) are doing. Clearly they get to sample each dish.
This is a "not to be missed" restaurant. We will be back --- and soon.

Taste - Plymouth
We found Taste in Plymouth CA (www.restauranttaste.com) and highly recommend it - menus on the web site are accurate. We started off with the mushroom cigar appetizer (a signature dish) which was very Rich but tasty. The romaine salad was a nice accompaniment. I had the halibut which was delicious and well presented with fresh pea sprouts. Mi esposa had the duck confit which was also well prepared and very good. The cherries were not overwhelming, no globs of cherry jelly as some prepare it. Dessert was a trio of creme brulee's, all distinct and a nice way to end the meal. Wines feature the local excellent Amador county wineries, in our case Terra Rouge Rousanne and a Wilderotter Sauvignon Blanc. Very good representations of the excellent local wines - Amador has greatly improved over the past few years, not as many big fruit bombs as in the past. I can't think anything that wasn't great about Taste, highly recommended.›4 Replies -
