I heard a rumour that a Whole Foods is going to open in the North end of TO. Does anyone have any info on this?

It looks as though this is the only TO store (sorry, I don't know the city well enough to be able to tell where it is):

The only Canadian store in development is in Vancouver:

    Hope this helps!

there is a rumour that whole foods will be opening at avenue road and st. germain (north of lawrence) below a new condo development...there is currently an lcbo there that is moving just north on the other side of avenue road....hopefully the rumour is true.

I had heard this rumour too, but with respect to the north-west corner lot at Avenue and Lawrence (where St. Huberts used to be). Now I am hearing that it will be a Shoppers Drug Mart going in at that location. Haven't heard anything about Avenue Rd and St Germain though, guess we'll have to wait and see.

There is a GTA/905 location in Oakville near Trafalgar/QEW.

I have heard rumours about one coming to the Sherway Gardens area.

We shop at the Hazelton Lanes location regularly, and asked the store manager. According to him, the next one in the GTA is around Sherway Gardens. The was a rumour about a location on Avenue just north of Lawrence (demo site right now, where St. Hubert used to be) but unfortunately that was just a rumour. Pity, as it would have been a lot closer for us, and would have allowed a combo Whole Foods / Pusateris grocery run!

I too heard the rumours about WF opening at the corner of Avenue Rd and Lawrence, in what used to be the St Hubert's. Although I think this is just that, a rumour.

the north/west corner of avenue road is definitely a shopper's drug mart but there is a more recent rumour of whole foods opening further north (demolition for the new condos hasn't started yet).

On their website in the "Stores in development" section, the only one listed in Canada is in BC.

i heard another rumour yesterday that whole foods is opening under the condo that rio-can is building on avenue road (at fairlawn). Anyone out there, know if this is true?

That is what todc1996 suggests above.

Again, going to the Wholefoods website give no mention of this.
The only one mentioned as "Stores in Development" is at Sherway Gardens.

Does it make sense that they'd have one store at Avenue and Bloor and one at Avenue and Fairlawn??

Why not, that's what Pusateri's did and both locations seem to be thriving.

As a suburbanite, I avoid going to WF, Cumbrae on Church, SLM, Chinatown, and Kensington unless I have to, because of congestion. But Av. and Lawrence is fine, or T&T, or Koreatown, or Cumbrae on Bayview. WF and Pusateri know exactly where to go for the suburban market.

This this too is a bit of unsubstantiated gossip.
I heard a rumour that Mark McEwan is opening a grocery store, along the lines of Pusateri's.

That rumour has been circulating for at least 10 years. Don't hold your breath.

An employee at the Whole Foods Store in Oakville told me that there will be a new store opening near Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke. He sounded very sure about it so we'll have to keep our fingers crossed and wait and see. That would save me the trip to Oakville

                  Wicked!
Just moved to Parkdale, makes great shopping easier for me than going to the snobby (clientèle) Hazelton Lanes store or the too distant Oakville store...

Sherway is opening in 2009 approx

Property was just purchased in Richmond Hill for a new store that will be opening after the Sherway location.

It was in the news that Whole Foods bought the land kitty corner to Pusateris on Avenue and Lawrence. The feud continues...

I did not hear that Whole Foods was opening in Etobicoke or Richmond Hill, but they should definately consider Richmond Hill...

I think they'd be large in that area of the 905.
