Never been but going for this weekend. Has anyone been before? Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Don't expect any street food. They just close Spadina and sell cheap T-shirts in the streets. Restaurants do business as usual. It's not exactly Pacific Mall.

I wish I'd seen this note before we went over there today. The press info I'd read suggested that there would be plenty of food available, but there were a grand total of four food booths - one Thai booth, one from Bright Pearl (shudder), and two that looked to be Muslim Chinese.

We ended up going to E-Pan for lunch. We had no idea what to expect, but it was surprisingly good. They have a $7.95 lunch special which includes a small soup (veg hot & sour or chicken corn), an appetiser (choice of four, including spring rolls and three different dumplings), and one of 10 different mains. We had one of each soup, shrimp dumplings, veg dumplings, crispy beef with sesame seeds, and an eggplant and tofu dish - nothing disappointed.

E-Pan is great! Try the Oxtail or Lotus Steam Chicken!

Thanks for the suggestions. We're definitely planning a return visit. It's good to find a reliable new place on Spadina, where so many places are hit & miss.
