Dumont Restaurant, Williamsburg [moved from Manhattan board]

Went for dinner at the Dumont in Williamsburg. Sat outside on the patio. I had the most amazing burger ever. My fiance had a wonderful mac and cheese. I highly recommend it!

  1. We were there for the first time last night as well, went specifically to try the burger (after reading its praises in the recent Brookly burgers thread.) Indeed, its a great burger. Mine was cooked perfectly---really charred on the outside yet juicy and rare on the inside, just as I wanted. Loved the homeade pickles and pickled onions too. Excellent fries too. Next time though, one of us will have to have the mac n' cheese which looked incredible.

The wine list is ridiculously expensive, though. Not a single bottle under $32. I can understand that at Dressler or somewhere like Tempo but...didn't expect that at Dumont. We ended up drinking beer.

    1. Dumont is absolutely great, and underrated by people who (understandably, I guess) think of it as just another Williamsburg hipster hangout. Recently I've had an amazing fig and proscuitto salad there, with a vinaigrette that tasted like essence of fig. Their brunch eggs are ridiculously buttery...and they give out free, freshly fried donuts. And their burger is the best I've had in the city.

      1. Yeah, it's one of my favorite restaurants. Sigh.
