Trader Joe's Coming to Queens

WaterCons Aug 10, 2007 05:33 PM

The Times ran a story about a year ago that an old industrial building near the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and Woodhaven Blvd would have Trader Joe's as one of its eventual occupants.

It looks like they're close to opening. The refrigeration equipment has been delivered and there's a sign posted.

My SO and I live in Forest Hills so we're eagerly awating their opening. It was supposed to be by now but there have been some delays. Up until a few weeks ago, there was no signage or any indication that it was actually going to happen but in the last few weeks there has been much more activity.

I don't know Queens too well and just moved to Jackson Heights.

Does anyone know the closest subway to the new TJ's? Or, the best way to get there?

Take the Q53 bus from outside Roosevelt station.

From the Roosevelt Ave subway stop take the local (R or G) to Woodhaven Blvd (three stops) and then take the Q11 or Q53 bus south on Woodhaven Blvd (about 5-7 minutes) to Metropolitan Avenue.
