Stupid question about tortillas (cheese enchiladas)

I'm making the Saveur cheese enchiladas tonight and had planned on making the tortillas from scratch until my day unraveled and I lost the ambition. So, instead, I bought some corn tortillas that were packaged in plastic. Do I still fry them before I soak them in the sauce? Thanks!

    Ruby,

Can you paraphrase the recipe? Thanks.

Glad it worked out. I usually fry them until just slightly leathery but still rollable. If you don't fry them enough to give them some body they tend to disinigrate.

Yes, lightly, and mostly to absorb some oil and sear them or they will absorb the sauce liquid and turn to mush. Adds a little al dente texture, also

Thanks to all of you. I lightly fried them and they were superb!

Yes - quickly, just until they soften. They'll be delicious.

If you want to avoid the frying time and oil, just put them in a micro for a couple of mins. They will be soft and not fall apart.
