New chow spots in Madison

mike_d Aug 10, 2007 01:32 PM

It's been about a year since we last were in Madison. Just wondering if there's any thing new in downtown/state st. area. For example, a place was just opening up on the corner of King and Pinckney, can't remember the name.

We still have to try the Old-Fashioned, but my search on the Midwest board hasn't turned up anything else that seems new (not that the Old-Fashioned is that new anymore).

Which is okay, after all, there's Ian's for pizza, and the Dane and Harvest and the Marigold Kitchen and...

Anyway, thanks in advance for any tips on the new.

Sardine, from the Marigold folks should be new to you; Bab's Creole Kitchen is new on Williamson--not much to look at, but good food; Osteria Pappavero on Wilson is the brother to Cocoliquot, and definitely deserves a try--at dinner rather than lunch. I would start with these as the best that I can think of right now.

I had forgotten about seeing the posts on Sardine. Thanks. But especially for Bab's Creole Kitchen, as casual is more the way we tend when there. Sounds interesting.
