Any info on new Italian deli/cafe "Perucci" in Berkeley?
There's a new shop opening up in Berkeley (I think) on San Pablo near The Spanish Table, where the old Dale Sanford electronics shop used to be. Awhile back they already had their sign painted on the window and you could see Metro shelving inside with all sorts of goods, but now the windows are covered with newspaper and they're missing a letter fom their sign. I would love to have a good Italian shop (anchovies, tomatoes, yum) within walking distance, so I sure hope that this place pans out.

No, nothing like that. It WAS more of a corner market with basic groceries. They had coffee in those thermos-like holders, but only coffee mate to whiten it.
It seems they are closed now, the windows papered over. On my one visit they said they were going to offer basic sandwiches in the beginning and there was a whole area in the back they wanted to convert to the cafe, but that was months down the line.
Don't know what happened. Best case scenario, they got all the permits they needed and are busily working on a cafe. Worst case ... RIP.
There wasn't a lot in there on my visit. A place to buy some milk and real basics if you were in the neighborhood.
