Vercelli's excellent Italian [Bellingham, MA]
Very well excecuted red sauce place in Bellingham. It seems family run. Tablecloths, glass tops great service and really clean. We like to sit in the room that is a converted silo.
Clams oreganato were fresh and briny with oregano, olive oil and some garlic cooked just right. Eggplanr rolatini was prepared right and topped with gooey cheeses.
Salads with the meal are ordinary and fresh.
Tender, very flavorful Veal Sinatra was sauteed with asparagus, fresh wild mushrooms, and sun drieds in a light creamy grappa sauce with polenta.
DC had the shrimp Scampi with large shrimp and smeeled garlicky, over linguini.
We shared a Friuli Pinot Grigio.
No room for desert. $80 before tip.

My friends and I visit Verchelli's often and have never been disappointed in their offerings. When they first opened, some of the younger staff members were a little untrained ("You guys want watah?"), but they've come a long way. It's quickly becoming our "default" restaurant...where we go if/when we can't decide on someplace else.

I live 10 mins from there and have yet to go, despite being told how good it was. Thanks for the reminder to try it.
