Mexican Coke available at Cave Creek/101 Costco

I posted this in the Pop the Soda Shop thread but thought I'd give it it's own so that more people might see it.

As the subject says, the Costco at Cave Creek & the 101 has 24 12oz bottle cases of Mexican Coca Cola. Only $18 each. They were right inside the door on the right as you enter.

  1. It's also available at the Costco near 19th Ave and Bethany Home. You'll find it at the wall-side end of the dairy cooler.

    1. Is it noticeably different from American Coke?

Yes. It's made with cane sugar as opposed to corn syrup. It's also not as carbonated. For me, carbonation almost stings a bit if you don't serve the soda ice cold - the flatter version doesn't need to be uber cold to taste ok going down.

I don't pretend to know why the difference in carbonation, but my family has always believed it's because a lot of areas in Mexico don't have access to cold soda/ice, so the lower carbonation helps it taste better.
