Healthy Dairy for Breaking the Fast this year
Hi there,
I will be preparing most of the food for breaking the fast this year. My Mom usually hosts, but she just had valve replacement surgery, so I am going to take over. I am a regular cook (part-time chef student) and I am very well versed in healthy cooking. I'd appreciate it, however, if any of you that have a healthier version of the some of the traditional dairy foods served at Yom Kippur, if you could share them with me, so that I can add some ideas for a heart healthy menu. If you have every made a whole wheat challah, I'd like to hear about it, for example.
Thanks in advance.

I have made WW Challah before and wasn't pleased with the texture. I love the "strands" that tear apart when the loaf is broken open, and the bran in the whole wheat seemed to make it too dense to do that. I have since used King Arthur "white" whole wheat flour for other baking and liked the texture it produced better. I think it would be worth a try for the challah loaf.
