Russian Deli

This week's episodes of No Reservations and Bizzare foods had Bourdain visiting a Russian deli which had several kinds of meats including a cured pork fat. Which I guess is a Russian version of lardo?

Is there a comparable deli to be found locally?

Here are two wonderful russian markets that have a large selection of foods already prepared. They have deli and bakery items also. Bazaar, 6022 Reseda Blvd. Tarzana, and Rasputin, 17159 Ventura Blvd, Encino.

Just drive through the Russian ghetto that is Santa Monica Blvd. between Crescent Heights and La Brea. There are probably 30 different Russian markets. I'm Russian and the ones I love are all in NY (Brighton Beach). The delis in LA are not as good.
