Caucus Room for RW

I am eating at Caucus Room tonight. A quick glance at their RW menu shows a very limited selection. Does anyone have a review of the restaurant and/or has eaten there during RW. Hoping I made a decent choice...

  1. Yes, I have eaten there in the last six months. It's small, roomy, quiet. The kind of place I would take a client for dinner to discuss business. In fact, there are usually more customers in the private rooms for business dinners than in the main dining room. Service is fine. The wine list and menu are quite modest; not much to choose from. The food was well prepared but uninspired [!!]. There is better, more interesting food at the same price in quite a few places. You won't be disppointed but you won't be wowed.

    1. Not my favorite RW choice as they have always had limited options. It will be a good value considering that it's typically overly expensive, but make sure you like the RW options because I don't think they would do any substitutions last time I was there.

      1. I went there during the Winter RW...similar to the other posters, the limited options was the downside. Nothing I ate was spectacular except for the side of mashed potatoes (more like a small boat) we ordered full price of the regular menu...some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten! I would suggest getting some of those, they were around $7 I think. Only thing I remember about the meal really. Cool atmosphere. Service was uninspired.

        1. I did the Caucus Room last year for RW and was impressed until dessert. The dessert was greatly disappointing and put a damper on the experience. Otherwise the service and the first two courses were enjoyable.
