Cape Cod Restaurants by Boat

  • 3

My fiance and I will be visiting Cape Cod early next week. We'll be bringing our 22' boat and would like to treat our hosts to lunch by boat if possible. We're not yet ready to venture along the southshore yet, but anywhere from Buzzard's Bay up the canal as far east as Dennis on the bay side. Any recs?

  1. I am not a boater, but you might want to try the Chart Room along Buzzards Bay in Pocasset (North Falmouth).

    1. Not many options really, but a couple. )Pocasset, BTW would be in the wrong direction from your inquiry). The ONLY restaurant that you can pull right up to and dock is Mattakeese Wharf in Barnstable Harbor. ( http://www.mattakeese.com/ ) Not great food but a terrific setting. The fish is fresh and pretty good either fried or broiled. Stay away from the scampi unless you like capers...lots and lots of capers. You could also dock at the north end of the canal and walk across the street to The Aqua Grille ( www.aquagrille.com ) which has quite a bit better food but not as nice a setting. The last option is to dock in Sesuit Harbor in Dennis and go to the Sesuit Cafe (think clam shack with outside picnic tables on the jetty to the harbor.

      Have fun!

Thanks for the suggestions. We've been to the Chart House and I have an e-mail into them to see if they have docks for patrons. We're docking in Barnstable Harbor, so maybe a boat ride and a return to the dock for lunch would work. I'll check out the Aqua Grille and Sesuit Cafe as well. Everyone's help is very much appreciated!
