Does anyone know where I can get white corrnmeal in the Toronto area ? Need it for New England Johnny Cakes.
I initially found it in a West Indian grocery store on the corner of Brock and Kingston Rd. in Pickering. BUT once I knew what the package looked like, I also found it in my local Sobeys in the Mexican food area.
I buy it at any grocery store...in the baking aisle. Quaker White Corn Meal. Works great.
I have tons of it sitting on my kitchen counter, trying to get up the courage to make empanadas or tamales. I got it at one of the latin markets in Kensington Market.
hey yyzsfo, Is it pure white cornmeal, or masa harina that you've found in Kensington?
Package says pure white cornmeal.
