Hi all - going to be around Vermont & Wilshire tonight with a few girlfriends and are looking for recommendations. Don't know what's in the area so the only parameter is no sushi...thanks for the help!

I am a total stranger in West LA, but goodness gracious do I enjoy going to Campanille. Various opinions about Thursday grilled cheese night, but I think it's worth at least 1 try in a person's lifetime. Even on grilled cheese night, the regular menu is available as well. One note - make reservations, if possible. If you don't, you'll get a funny look from the host/hostess.

Maybe too late and you're already out? But Opus is near there, at Wilshire and Western near the Wiltern. There are also a lot of Salvadorean restaurants in that general area that I've always wanted to try, but haven't gotten around to yet..

Too late now, but I would've said trek to Luna Park or up to Fred 62.

Too late for you I assume but lots of great options there. Guelaguetza has locations on Olympic and 8th, most of the best Korean in LA is within spitting distance, also Taylor's steak house on 8th.
