Any decent farms near Tenafly?

I'm talking about good local produce, although if there are other kinds of farms, that info'd be welcome, too. Thanks

You got Old Hook Farm on Old Hook Road in Emerson, thats only about 10 minutes away. You also have another farm on Piermont Road in Closter, which has very good stuff as well. Both not cheap, but good stuff.

My recommendation would be to go to the Teaneck Farmer's Market on Thursday and the Englewood Farmers Market on Friday, you will get more variety. My blog has photos of both markets and also of Old Hook, if you search for it.

In addition to Old Hook Farm itself on Old Hook Road, there is also another farm with good veggies on the corner of Old Hook and Schralemberg. There is also DePiero's Farm in West Montvale but the other two and the one in Closter are closer.

In the highly developed suburban environment of Tenafly, I wondered if this was a tongue-in-cheek question!

The Farmer's Markets are the only shot at "local" produce, and the Englewood Market is pretty sad this year. Teaneck is a bit better, but the best within 30 minutes is up in Nyack NY on Thursday mornings. A superb market, lots of vendors, and grow-your-own standards.

IMHO, DePiero's and the former Trautwein's are now little more than glorified supermarket produce stands. The closest REAL farm is Dr Davies, in Congers, NY (Rockland County). It's worth the drive, they have home grown stuff, including corn now and apples in the fall.
