Bronx, Mexican, Bedford Park Blvd: Las Maravillas de Mexico

Seeking a rumored Korean resturant at 11 Bedford Park Blvd (just west of Grand Concourse) we found that the spot is now occupied by Las Maravillas de Mexico; when in the neighborhood this is a great choice.

Everything was very fresh, and delicious. I had three tacos: tongue, barbacoa of goat, carnitas (pork); served with sliced radish. Others had sopas (I think that was what she called them), like thick, homemeade corn tortillas topped with meat of your choice, lettuce, crema, fresh cheese. Salsas and all chopped vegetables were fresh and tasty. Homemade tamarindo drink. Yum!

i highly reccommend Las Maravillas de Mexico especially their goat dish
unlike other restaurants their goat isnt curried so you get taste the goat meat in full form and comes with a side of orange rice and tortillas

Yeah, the korean spot on Bedford Park Blvd has closed around last year or late 2005. I loved their soups.

If you're still looking for a Korean restaurant in the neighborhood, try going to 204 street on the East side of the Concourse. They have huge portions. I also love their Chinese food. They use a Korean sauce.

When I take the D train, I’m usually on the first cart. The exit is two blocks away from 204

Enjoyed lunch with kenito and our friend. I had sopes (not sopas) with cecina, a tasty dry salt cured beef. Also sampled the carnitas, but preferred the cecina.

Great things: the tamarindo drink. the salsa that came with the chips--great lime-y flavor. the lovely service (warm, and very patient with our so-so spanish).

So here's the big question--is there Korean food in that area? Our friends claimed that a place existed. Or are we eating at the former site of a Korean place?

Sorry, still haven't got a chance to gone back to the Korean in 204th street for the full address.

We found a new yummy Korean spot around the same area in Kingsbridge. Not too far from the vietnamese spot (World of Taste).

when you take the d train there, do you get out at bedford park? from the map, it doesn't look easily walkable from the 205th st stop.

Sorry so late replying! Yeah, it's best to take Bedford Park. Make sure you're in front cart coming from Manhattan. When you get off, it should be around 3 blocks.

The portions are big! Also, the chinese-korean dish are great!
