Tacos de Sesos--Revisited

Just discovered yesterday to my deep disappointment that Taco Boy on Euclid in Anaheim no longer serves sesos(brain). This was the last outpost in OC I was aware of for this rare, tasty treat.

Does anyone out there know of any place of any kind---taqueria, taco truck, restaurant, carniceria--in Orange County that still serves sesos????

Although I don't get to LA much, if you know of sesos being served anywhere I'd love to hear it.

Please help!!!

A previous post had mentioned them being available at Carniceria El Campeon in SJC, (but all the mad cow stuff may mean you won't be getting your fill north of the border). If it's a long trip from your regular stomping grounds to this area then you might just give them a call first to see if that's still the case.

Thanks for the tip. I just called them and unfortunately they don't serve prepared sesos although they do sell raw sesos at the carniceria next door so my only solice may be making my own sesos tacos at home.

If anyone knows of another possible place I'm all ears.

Three years too late, after a re-opening, but if you ever head back... not at all. There's a friendly sign in the window of El Rincón Chilango on 17th in Santa Ana that says, "Ricos tacos de sesos—sólo pídelos."

I'm not sure if their sister (cousin?) restaurant in Anaheim, Los Chilangos on Euclid, has them, but you could ask, and if they don't you could console yourself with a quesadilla de huitlacoche or a pambazo de papa y chorizo y chicharrón prensado...

      3. I realize this post is three years old, but I was looking at the menu for Taquerias Guadalajara
in Santa Ana and saw tacos de sesos. I didn't know what it was so I googled it and this was one of the first results.

        1. El Rincon Del Sabor, a taco truck parked just outside Northgate Market on the southwest corner of 4th & Mortimer St. in downtown Santa Ana makes up some great tacos de sesos for $1.50. They are there everyday except Tuesday. The best time to go is afternoon through early evening. Due to their delicacy, they buy sesos fresh daily (possibly at Northgate) and don’t usually purchase before Noon. If you go later in the evening, they may have already run out.
