Homemade marshmallows at a picnic?

abud Aug 7, 2007 11:25 AM

I am going to a picnic tomorrow and happen to have dozens of homemade marshmallows (made s'mores last weekend). Any suggestions of how to serve them? Something easily portable and servable.
I am making chocolate cake squares--will they be good together?

Homemade marshmallows and chocolate cake squares a great together.
Pack some caramel sauce, raspberry puree, chocolate sauce, a bag of crushed nuts, graham cracker crumbs, peanut butter, cut up dried fruit, etc. along with plenty of spoons and bowls and you've got a marshmallow bar! If you've got a portable cooler, you're all set!

What about some delicous "rice krispy" type bars.....sometimes I add some reese's pieces or m&ms/smarties or chocolate pieces and it gets all melty and delicious. You can also make "healthier" nature type bars by using corn flakes, pepitas, nuts, raisins, dried cranberries, flax seeds etc etc etc. Both are yummy!!!
