Schuler cabinets from Lowes or Medallion cabinets?
We are about to start a kitchen renovation project and found some Schuler cabinets at Lowe's that are in our price range. They are the Lowe's version of Medallion cabinets. They looked like good value to me, but I wondered if anyone here has had experience with either brand? Thanks.

I purchased Schuler cabinets at Lowes in February 2007. The cabinets are very good quality- especially if you are looking for a quality painted-glazed finish which tends to look plasticy&cheap in many other cabinet lines. Schuler is similar in quality of the finish to Wood Mode and other very expensive high-end custom lines at a more affordable price. Still they are not cheap- they are the most expensive/almost custom line Lowes carries.
Unfortunately, as you might expect, Lowes service level in poor. Our designer was good at the CAD program & spend hours with me working on the design, but he never came out to the house himself. This led to some design errors which meant re-ordering some pieces. Additionally, I experienced multiple mistakes by the installer and complete lack of follow-up by the installation department. One delay lead to another and it's now August 2007 and I am still waiting for a final? visit by an installer to finish-up remaining punch list items.
Also fyi-
Lowes requires 100% payment up-front, and their people don't have voicemail.›2 Replies-
re: degmat
Thanks for your helpful comments, degmat. We've now found similar quality cabinets from Omega Dynasty through a local dealer for about 5k less than the Lowes price. And the local company will store the cabinets until delivery is needed at no additional cost. It looks like Lowes loses.
